Introduction to Applications of Quadratic Functions

What you'll learn to do: Use factoring techniques to solve quadratic equations.

In this section, we will apply factoring techniques and the zero product principle to solving quadratic equations.  We will solve quadratic equations that model projectile motion and introduce you to the Pythagorean Theorem, which is named after the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras who lived over two thousand years ago. Specifically, in this section you’ll learn how to:
  • Solve quadratic equations
  • Solve quadratic equations involving projectile motion
  • Use the pythagorean theorem
